HP’s New Plug & Print LaserJet Pro Printers AnnouncedApril 13, 2010 No Comments
In a press release, Hewlett Packard (HP) continues to boost its stronghold on the printer market with the announcement of new HP LaserJet Pro printer series highlighted by the “plug and print” technology.
We have all been accustomed to plug and play feature when interconnecting gadgets usually to our computers. HP ingeniously applies the idea on their printers.
Called, HP smart install, this plug and print feature means that users do not need the usual CD to install the new hardware. Apparently, the software is inside the printer units. Once, you plug the printer’s USB cable to your PC or similar device, the installation will proceed. And you can print in as fast as 2 minutes.
This pioneering technology is included in the monochrome printers, HP LaserJet Pro P1100 Printer series, the HP LaserJet Pro M1130/M1210 Multifunction Printer (MFP) series and the HP LaserJet Pro P1566/P1606dn Printer series. However, only HP LaserJet Pro P1566 Printer and HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn Printers are available globally. HP M1130/M1210 is released in Asia & Europe while HP P1566/P1606dn is expected to be released this May.
