printers2Since the start of developing computers and its parts, its users are given different models to choose from. Whether it is just a monitor or a printer, there will always be one type that would match your needs. As mentioned, the printer has really changed alongside with the technology’s growth. From the big machines to the small ones, you can see which will suit your personal or office use. The main types of printer that are available nowadays are the laser printer and inkjet printer. These two models consume either an ink or toner that can be easily purchased. However, let us set the difference between these printers.

An inkjet printer is the first model to be released in the 1950s. It uses ink cartridges that are transferred to a paper to create a printout. The first makers of this product were Epson, Hewlett-Packard, and Canon. Then the innovation of inkjet printers grew which created the continuous ink system and thermal inkjets. These are the latest forms of consuming inks to create various outputs.

The laser printer developed in the year 1969 when a researcher experimented on a xerographic copier. It consumes toner cartridges which are in powder form, unlike the usual inks. Its first model was introduced by IBM in 1975 but had a large size that occupied too much space. Later on, printer developers created smaller but more advanced laser printers.

In line with the growth of printer types, so are the creations of inks and toner cartridges that can match the qualities of original ones. These types are usually known as the compatible cartridges. The difference that can be seen with this product is the pricing, that is way lower than OEMs or original equipment manufactured inks and toners.

So when you are stuck on choosing a printer, decide first on what you really need. For your inks and toners, just make sure you purchase the right one for your laser or inkjet printer.
