Lately, a news about an HP printer user started what is being called as regionalised HP cartridges. This is when the consumer purchased an HP Photosmart C7180 printer from Australia then brought it to Malta for her printing needs. After trying a few printouts, the printer started showing messages about the inks being expired and when printing is continued, it might create damage on the printer. So the owner decided to purchase new ink cartridges at nearby stores. Here is where the issue on HP cartridges being regionalised began.

The printer user went to a lot of stores including the main dealer of HP products in Malta only to find out that HP is actually distributing specific inks and toners on a certain printer for certain regions. She felt disturbed on this idea so she decided to check it online. After talking to an HP online support agent, she found out that this is actually true and to get her needed inks, she must use a US address which will make her purchase troublesome since she was in Europe. After this incident, the printer owner decided to use her other printer that was supposed to be replaced by her new HP printer. Meanwhile, the HP Company has not made any comments on this matter as of the moment.

Sometimes purchasing toners and inks can really be troublesome especially when these are not available or worse the prices are too high. It’s a good thing that compatible toners are now available for those who seek good quality printing at a lower cost.
