The Compatible Ink Cartridge Guide Part 1October 20, 2010 1 Comment
Compatible ink cartridges are partners of inkjet printers but not all know the other types of ink cartridges, its components, and how to properly care for these consumables. To have the basic ideas about the kinds of compatible printer inks, here is a quick guide for you.
Types of Ink Cartridge
There are three types of ink cartridges namely the original, the remanufactured and the compatible ones. The original ink cartridges or commonly known as OEMs are those made by the printer producers as well. These inks come in a wide variation since every printer must have its original ink. The issue that has been bugging OEMs for a long time is its outrageously expensive price. The strategy done by these printer producers is they provide cheap and low maintenance printers but they will get back to you through their printer cartridges.
The remanufactured inks are third party products made of recycled materials that have been inspected carefully to ensure the cartridge’s safety and performance. Most of the time, these inks are almost a hundred percent cheaper than the OEMs.
The compatible inkjet cartridges are made of brand new parts but manufactured by third party factories as well. These can be compared to those items that we call as generic since compatible inks can work just like OEMs but at a lower price. The printouts of both inks may look similar too.
Now that you already have an idea on the types of ink cartridges, you won’t have a hard time in checking which will fit your printing needs. On our next ink cartridge guide, we will discuss its parts and how to care for your inks.
