The touch screen technology popularized by Apple on its iTouch and iPhone gadgets has not only revolutionized mobile phones and PDAs but has now “touched” the printer as well, pun intended.
Lexmark has beaten its rivals in this regard as it launched Lexmark T656dne, believed to be the industry’s first ever printer that uses touch screen technology. Users can access or launch its numerous applications by simply touching the 7-inch color LCD. It also have an 80 Gigabyte hard disk.
Other features, from Lexmark’s product page, includes printing speed of 55 ppm, paper handling options, security and pre-loaded apps. Soon to be sold to the public, T656dne price starts at $1, 999.
Lexmark had just started what will surely be a trend that other printer brands will soon follow as well.
